National Novel Writing Month

November is National Novel Writing Month!

National Novel Writing Month (abbreviated as NaNoWriMo) challenges writers–whether you’ve been writing for a while, or if you’re just starting–to complete a full writing project throughout the month. You can sign up on the official NaNoWriMo website, which will provide you with tons of resources and guide you every step of the way toward finishing a complete novel. You can download a full guide here.

However, it’s also totally fine to take a more laid-back approach and just use the opportunity to experiment with whatever creative writing pursuits you’re interested in. The spirit of NaNoWriMo is to get people to exercise their creativity. Check out some pep talks on writing from published authors, and maybe consider joining an online writing community like Wattpad, where you can post your work, and read other’s work as well.

If you’re looking for some practice, or just some inspiration and support from fellow writers, you should consider coming to our Teen Writers Group! We meet monthly and offer a relaxed atmosphere to experiment with writing and share ideas with your peers. And if you’re working on a NaNoWriMo project we’d absolutely love to hear about it!

Our next meeting is Saturday, November 16th at 12, come check it out!
